Things I wish I knew before starting high school

Ocene, momci, drugarice, porodica, novac, more, fakultet, odluke, odluke, odluke..Verovatno se i ja mahinalno nisam javila nekome koga poznajem.

      1. Higher grade students just don’t pay that much attention

I remember when I was the first grade in high school. I thought: “I know this girl from the third grade. Why doesn’t she say hi to me? Is she showing off because she is older?” But when I was that third grade student, I realized some things. I honestly didn’t pay that much attention on people around me, I had so much on my mind. Grades, boys, friends, family, money, holiday, college, decisions, decisions, decisions… Probably I didn’t say hi to someone I know, too.
I think my first year at high school would be more peaceful if I hadn’t worried so much about everything, especially about people around me and their opinions. Who cares what anyone thinks? Enjoy your life!

        2. Grades are important

As everyone around me were like “Who cares about grades, this is the time to party!” I thought so many times that they are right. Fortunately, I was raised to put an effort to have excellent grades. I wanted to be that way, I loved just giving the best of me. I studied hard, had excellent grades, but still found time for parties, spending time with friends, time for a boyfriend, even time for myself only. But, there are a lot of sacrifices to be made in order to have very good grades. If someone says to you that getting good grades is easy, he is laying. The better grades you have, the less you need to worry about your further education, if you plan to have one. Because, if you have good grades, you can choose. And that’s the best thing.

         3. Get out of the comfort zone, but don’t do anything you don’t want to do

Never, never, never let anyone force you to something you don’t want to do. The effort you now make to get those new friends to like you isn’t going to be important to you in a few years’ time. And you surely won’t be proud of some reckless decisions you made. High school is one of the best periods of your life. You are still pretty carefree with your parents by your side, but still, so independent, you have to make your own decisions, it’s on you to decide what will your career be, who you are going to spend time with, where you will live… High school is the right time for new things, for meeting new people, and for first love. Take it easy, there is time for everything.

Ovo bih hljadu puta napisala kada bih mogla. To traži dosta vežbe, dosta ljubavi i dosta vremena.

           4. So what if everyone around you has a boyfruend, don’t feel pressured

I would say this a thousand times if I could – There is no such thing as “the exact right time” for anything in your life.- Everybody is different. If something your friend experienced something in high school, it doesn’t mean that you have to experience it too. One of the most important things in life is to feel satisfied with you. That requires a lot of practice, lots of love, and a lot of time. As soon as we love ourselves, we can love someone else. It is visible to others that we love ourselves. Relax, only when you truly start to enjoy your life, someone right will notice the positive energy you spread.

Ispiti, obaveze, predavanja, provod, učenje, prelistavanje, manjak sna, žurka, spremanje ispita, bubanje, panika..I to u mnogo većim razmerama nego u srednjoj školi! Uostalom, shvatićete i sami.

       5. Enjoy as you can (because the chaos is near)

Those exams you had in high school are nowhere near as college life. Endless obligations, lectures, fun time, study time, browsing trough notes, classes, less sleep, parties, exam preparation, cramming, panic…And all of that together! Sound impossible? Oh, just wait and see it yourself! But don’t panic, though. College is one of the best times of your life too, and definitely not impossible, if our parents survived it, we can too! During high school I didn’t realize how fast time goes by, and how much I enjoyed it. Things that gave me headache in that period of time weren’t as half scary as worries of the independent life. After all, you will see it yourself.

Do tada, uživajte u srednjoj školi!

Until then, enjoy your high school life!
